Troubleshooting

Test invoice / Facture Test

During the extension set up, a test invoice is generated and immediately deleted. Make sure that the option “Block invoice deletion” option is temporarily disabled on your VosFactures account settings. Otherwise, you will have to delete this test invoice manually in order to finalize the integration.

Code API

Lors de la configuration de l’extension copiez le code API en intégralité, sinon l’intégration ne pourra pas se faire. Exemple : AhgyTkig6ibhb/monentreprise

Make sure to copy your VosFactures API code fully. Example : AhgyTkig6ibhb/mycompany.

Subscription plan / Formule d’abonnement

Vérifiez dans les paramètres de votre compte VosFactures que la formule choisie est “pro” ou “max” et cela même en période d’essai, sinon l’intégration ne pourra pas se faire.

Make sure in your VosFactures account settings that the chosen plan is “pro” or “max”, even during the free trial period, otherwise the integration can not be done.

Sur le nom des produits/services

Attention la communication ne se fait que dans un sens (Woocommerce > Vosfactures): en cas de vente depuis VosFactures (hors WooCommerce), la quantité décomptée sur VosFactures ne l’est pas sur WooCommerce.

At each invoice creation, any new invoiced client and products are automatically added to the list of your Contacts and Products on VosFactures account :

Client surname and first name

Overview

WooCommerce Memberships has a few standard emails built into the plugin, which are intended to cover the basics of member lifecycle emails. However, WordPress isn’t a great tool for sending emails as its scheduling mechanisms aren’t robust and email deliverability from your site isn’t ideal–using a dedicated email service is better for more advanced emails.

While Memberships will always cover the basics, we’ve built an integration with Jilt, our email marketing app, to support sending advanced member emails.

Since Jilt and Memberships are both built by SkyVerge, these products are always guaranteed to work well together, and we’ll keep adding features to improve the integration.

Comparison

Setup

To begin using Jilt with Memberships, please confirm that you meet the site requirements and follow this guide to connect your store to Jilt.

Once connected with Memberships activated on your site, you should be all set to start sending membership emails from Jilt!

When Jilt connects to your site, it automatically begins syncing member and other customer data. Jilt will get updates from your store via WooCommerce webhooks, so there’s nothing you need to do to ensure member and customer data stays updated.

Note: Since Jilt relies on webhooks for updates, please do not delete Jilt’s webhooks for membership events!

Using Jilt

Jilt offers extensive documentation and an incredible support team to help you with any questions about how to create and send beautiful emails, but here are a few general notes about how emailing works in Jilt:

You can segment emails by membership status to send specific emails to your members. You can also segment by membership plan to target the members of a particular plan with content relevant to their membership.

Jilt offers pre-built templates for each email type to help you get started, but these can be endlessly customized with our email editor so that your email design and content fits with your site’s brand.

Our default segmentation rules are catered to each email type (e.g., welcome or expiration emails) so there’s very little setup you need to do to start sending great emails. These rules can also be customized, though, if you want to tweak how your emails are sent.

Jilt’s email editor lets you personalize email content with liquid so you can include information like member name and other membership details.

With Jilt, you can get started with sending membership emails in just a few clicks, but you can edit segmentation rules, email design, and email content to meet your exact needs.

Email types

Jilt includes many emails to support membership sites – let’s take a look at each email type.

Using WooCommerce Subscriptions? Jilt also supports sending subscription-based emails! If you use Memberships and Subscriptions together to create subscription-tied memberships, you’ll want to ensure that you’re not sending the same email type to the same users for both membership events and subscription events (e.g., sending an expiration notification for the membership expiration and subscription expiration).

Welcome new members

You can send a single welcome email or a welcome series to introduce new members to their membership. Welcome emails let you thank members for joining and help your new members get started with using their membership effectively.

Member newsletters

With Jilt’s broadcasts feature, you can send newsletters to your members to keep them updated on news about their membership, your store, and other related topics. This is a great way to keep members engaged and returning to your site on a regular basis.

Expiring soon notifications

When a membership is about to expire, you should let your members know so they can ensure they don’t lose access to their plan unexpectedly. With Jilt, you can even offer discounts codes to encourage members to renew!

Win-back emails

Once a membership ends, you can send one or more emails to encourage members to reactivate their membership plan. Jilt offers both an expiration and cancellation win-back, so you can tweak your messaging based on how the membership ended. You can also send an email immediately after the membership ends as an expiration notification in addition to a win-back campaign.

Members will immediately exit the campaign once they reactivate, so you don’t need to worry about sending additional win-back emails after that point.

Paused membership reminders

If you’re using WooCommerce Subscriptions with Memberships, your members may be able to pause their membership by suspending the associated subscription. You can also manually pause memberships upon request even if you’re not using Subscriptions. This campaign lets you remind members about their paused membership and entice them to reactivate!

Frequently asked questions

Q: Can I use Jilt to send emails to other customers that aren’t members?
A: Absolutely! Jilt is a full-service email marketing platform, so you can use it to send all sorts of emails. In addition to the membership emails listed above, Jilt can also send other automated emails (e.g., abandoned cart emails or product review requests), transactional emails (e.g., order receipts), and broadcasts (e.g., newsletters, product promotions, or sale announcements) for all your site customers.

Q: Can I send different emails based on membership plan?
A: Sure thing – you can send one email to all members, or you can add rules to target one or more plans in particular. This is a great way to customize your content based on the interests of your plan members. For example, if you offer eLearning memberships, you might want to send very different content based on the types of courses included in each membership.

The post WooCommerce Memberships Jilt integration first appeared on CODIBU.

Restricting brand products

When you sell items from specific brands in your marketplace, you can restrict those items to members just as you can any other products. However, you can also restrict all products from a brand to members easily.

When creating your membership plan (WooCommerce > Memberships > Membership Plans), you’ll see a new product type under the “Restrict Products” tab. You can select “Brands”, then select a brand to restrict all products from a brand to this membership.

Restrict Products from a Brand

Brand discounts

All products from a particular brand can be discounted for members. When creating a purchasing discount for a plan, you can select a brand for the discount. This discount will be applied to any products from the brand for members of this plan.

Overview & requirements

WooCommerce Memberships can be used with Sensei LMS and the WooCommerce Paid Courses extension to restrict course access for learners unless they have an active membership.

Restrict courses

When you set up your courses and want to control access via the membership, you’ll need to check your Sensei LMS settings, the course setup, and your membership plan setup.

Sensei LMS settings

If you’d like learners to automatically be enrolled in courses when they purchase a membership, ensure that the Auto-start courses belonging to a membership checkbox is selected in Sensei LMS > Settings > WooCommerce Memberships:

Next, ensure that any courses you want to control access to via Memberships are not tied to WooCommerce products:

Now you can restrict your course via your membership plan.

Membership plan

When setting up your membership and course access, you only need to create a content restriction rule for the course. Course access rules will trickle down to the course’s associated lessons and quizzes:

Customer views

When you let Memberships and WooCommerce Paid Courses handle content restriction, the course content will only be accessible for as long as the membership is active.

When a member who has purchased access logs in, they’ll see the courses they have access to, and can view lessons within each course:

If a member has access to a lesson, all lesson details are shown to the member.

If the member doesn’t have access, or will have access in the future, course content remains hidden.

Course videos

One special case worth mention are course videos. By default, these are pieces of public content to allow you to sell non-members on your course. As such, they’re shown to members and non-members alike.

If you’d like to hide the course overview videos, you can do so in 2 ways – by changing the way you add the video with a shortcode, or by adding an additional code snippet.

Restrict via shortcode

If you want to restrict specific course videos to your members, you can use the content restriction shortcode to do so. However, if you do use this shortcode, you can’t use a plain URL for the video — you must use the full embed link instead.

First, get the full embed code for the video. If you’re using YouTube, this will be under Share > Embed for example.

Then, when you paste this into the “Course video” box, wrap the restriction shortcode around your embed link.

This will ensure members can see the video, but non-members don’t see the overview. The shortcode method is helpful if you want to delay access to the overview video specifically as well.

Restrict all course videos

If you’d like to restrict all course videos, you can enable “Restrict course video” in the Sensei LMS settings. This will hide all course videos from non-members rather than using them as a free preview:

The post WooCommerce Memberships Sensei LMS Integration first appeared on CODIBU.

Overview

WooCommerce Memberships currently has very basic compatibility with bbPress, and requires you to use certain content restriction modes in order to restrict forums, topics, and/or topic tags.

If you’d like to see improved compatibility with bbPress, please vote for it here – feedback is always appreciated!

Requirements

To restrict bbPress forums, topics, and replies, you must use either the Redirect to page or Hide completely restriction modes.

Redirect to page will let non-members see some aspects of your forums and topics:

For restricted forums, non-members can see your forum titles, descriptions, and the forum index. However, they cannot see restricted forums or the list of its topics.

For restricted topics, non-members can view the topic’s title, but not its contents or replies.

Hide completely will largely hide restricted forums, topics, and replies from non-members:

Restricted forums will never be visible. They won’t be shown in the forum index or within a forum category. Their associated topic list will also be hidden.

Restricted topics will not appear in the forum’s list of topics and won’t be directly accessible. Their replies will also be inaccessible.

Note: You cannot use Hide content only with bbPress because bbPress outputs its content separately from the WordPress content.

Restricting forums

Restricting a forum will prevent non-members from seeing any of the forum’s topics. You must individually restrict each forum that you want to hide from non-members; you cannot do this by restricting a forum category, as restrictions won’t be inherited.

For example: I have a “Movie” category that contains the forums “Avengers” and “Batman”, each with their own topics. Restricting by the “Movie” category won’t restrict the child forums “Avengers” and “Batman”. To restrict these forums, I’d need to either specifically restrict “Avengers” and “Batman” from the forum list or restrict all forums.

Notes:

Restricting all forums will also hide your forum index.

Forum topics will still be directly accessible (via the exact URL) unless they are also restricted.

Restricting topics and replies

Restricting individual topics will let non-members see the topic’s title, but not the topic itself or any replies. Topics can be restricted directly or by the topic’s tag, which restricts all topics with that tag.

If topics are restricted, then non-members can see the forums (including titles and descriptions), as well as the list of topics, but won’t be able to see the individual topics or the associated replies in the forums.

Restricting forums, topics, and replies

If you want to prevent non-members from accessing a forum and its topics and replies, you must restrict both from the membership plan.

The post WooCommerce Memberships bbPress Integration first appeared on CODIBU.

If you use WooCommerce Product Vendors to create a marketplace on your site, you can use WooCommerce Memberships to integrate with that marketplace to restrict access to vendor products.

Restricting vendor products

When you sell items from vendors in your marketplace, you can restrict those items to members just as you can any other products. However, you can also restrict all products from a vendor to members easily.

When creating your membership plan (WooCommerce > Memberships > Membership Plans), you’ll see a new product type under the “Restrict Products” tab. You can select “Product Vendors”, then select a vendor to restrict all products from a vendor to this membership.

Restrict all vendor products

When a customer views a product from this vendor, it will be restricted according to your rules.

Vendor discounts

All products from a particular vendor can be discounted. When creating a purchasing discount for a plan, you can select a vendor for the discount. This discount will be applied to any products from the vendor for members of this plan.

Specific products from a vendor can be discounted as usual.

Granting access with vendor products

Products from a particular vendor can grant access to a membership, but a vendor cannot create this access — only shop managers and administrators can select a product to grant access to a membership.

Vendors will not see the “Memberships” meta box when creating or editing their products.

Vendor capabilities

Vendors typically have the “Customer” or “Subscriber” role on your site. This means that vendors cannot restrict their own products to members, create member discounts, or grant access to a membership with their products — only Shop Managers and Administrators can manage memberships. Since a membership may apply to products from another vendor, we cannot give vendors this capability.

If you’d like to restrict a vendor’s products to a membership, a shop manager or admin must do so. If a vendor’s product should have a member discount, or should grant access to a site membership, the shop manager or administrator must configure this when editing the plan.

The post WooCommerce Memberships Product Vendors Integration first appeared on CODIBU.

Overview

While WooCommerce Memberships works very well on its own to help you sell set-length memberships, it’s very tightly integrated with WooCommerce Subscriptions to let you sell recurring memberships, as well as take advantage of some additional features that Subscriptions provides.

Subscriptions allows your customers to upgrade, downgrade, or pause their own subscriptions, which will also affect memberships associated with the subscription. You can also offer free trials and recurring billing (instead of set-length, expiring memberships).

Tying membership access to a subscription

When you create a membership, you can determine which products grant access to the membership. If Subscriptions is active and the membership is tied to a subscription product (simple or variable subscription) rather than a regular product, Memberships opens up some new options.

Subscription-tied Membership

If you want a traditional model where the membership access is directly tied to the subscription’s billing, you should choose “Subscription Length” for the “Subscription-tied membership length” setting.

The membership’s the status and expiration will now be tied to that subscription; the membership will be valid so long as the subscription is active.

If the subscription is paused, cancelled, or expired, the membership will always follow suit. Members won’t be able to make any changes to the status of a membership directly but only through the subscription plan.

If you would like membership access to be controlled independently from the Subscription (for example, if you use the Subscription as a payment plan), you can use a different setting to decouple access from billing.

Manually linking a subscription

If, for some reason, you need to manually link a membership to a subscription (for example, if you manually created a membership and want to tie to a billing record that’s not related to a plan already), you can edit or add links to a subscription record.

Be advised: If you want to link a membership to a subscription purchase that could have granted access already, the Grant Access action can be used. Manual links are recommended if you’d like more control over membership data like start date, to add a link to a different or non-membership related subscription record, or link one person’s membership to another’s subscription.

Here are the steps you can take to edit a subscription link:

View the user membership and click “Edit Link”:

Unlimited memberships + subscriptions

You can use a subscription to grant unlimited access to a membership. This would let you use the subscription as a payment plan, while the membership access will extend after the subscription as been completed / expired.

If the subscription is paused before payments are completed, the membership will be paused as well. Access will resume when the subscription is reactivated.

If the subscription is cancelled before all payments are completed, the membership access will be cancelled as well, as this signifies that not all payments were finished.

If the subscription completes and moved to “expired” status, the membership will be de-coupled from it, as this signifies that payments have finished, and access will remain indefinitely.

Set-length memberships + subscriptions

If you enable a “specific length” membership, you can ensure that a membership is only active for a certain time period.

When a specific length membership is enabled, the membership length is defined by this setting, and will be accessible for this length of time so long as the subscription has been paid.

If the subscription is paused before payments are completed, the membership will be paused as well. Access will resume when the subscription is reactivated.

If the subscription is cancelled before all payments are completed, the membership access will be cancelled as well, as this signifies that not all payments were finished.

If the subscription completes and moved to “expired” status, the membership will be de-coupled from it, as this signifies that payments have finished, and access will remain until the access length is reached.

If the membership ends before the subscription, the membership will expire, and will not be reactivated with additional renewal payments.

You can also restrict the membership length when a subscription is used by using the subscription product instead with a subscription-tied membership. You can limit the number of billing periods under “Subscription Length” if you do not use “all time”.

Edit Subscription Length to limit membership

Pausing and canceling memberships should also be done via the subscription rather than the membership status. Memberships uses Subscriptions as a guide completely if you allow it to.

Fixed-date memberships + subscriptions

When a fixed date membership is enabled, the membership length is defined by this setting, and will be accessible for this length of time so long as the subscription has been paid.

If the subscription is cancelled before all payments are completed, the membership access will be cancelled as well, as this signifies that not all payments were finished.

If the subscription completes and moved to “expired” status, the membership will be de-coupled from it, as this signifies that payments have finished, and access will remain until the end date is reached.

If the membership ends before the subscription, the membership will expire, and will not be reactivated with additional renewal payments.

Subscription-specific settings

Tying a membership to a subscription can also add a few settings while editing a membership plan, or anywhere restriction rules are used for this plan.

If the subscription has a free trial, you can account for this in your content dripping. You can determine whether content access should include or exclude the free trial. For example, you may want members to be able to access some content immediately when the trial begins, but only access other content when the trial period has ended.

Memberships let you determine whether access should start after the free trial or not:

Dripping with free trial

Let’s assume access is granted immediately, but you enable “Start after trial”. This content will be accessible as soon as the trial ends, but not before. If you start access after one week, but enable “Start after trial”, this content will be available one week after the trial ends. This gives you the flexibility to determine which content is available during trial periods.

You can also include or exclude trial periods with product dripping and restrictions:

Product Dripping with trials

Managing memberships tied to subscriptions

User membership management will be very similar for memberships purchased via subscription in comparison to those purchased via other product types. However, a membership tied to a subscription will have a couple of additional actions an admin can take.

If a membership is tied to a subscription, you can opt to delete a user membership, or delete with subscription. Be cautious with the delete with subscription action, as this will delete both the user membership and the subscription in which it was purchased.

You’ll be asked to confirm this action, regardless of whether you use the membership action or the quick action, but it is irreversible.

Membership statuses with Subscriptions

When a membership is purchased via a subscription, the user membership can go through a couple different paths:

Unlimited memberships – The membership status will listen to subscription status until the subscription ends, after which it will stay active indefinitely.

Subscription-tied memberships – The membership statuses become tied to the subscription’s statuses. This allows you or your customers to change the subscription status and thus trigger a change in the membership. *

Set length or fixed date memberships – The membership status will listen to subscription status until the subscription ends (signifying payments are done), after which the membership will observe its own end date settings.

*If you suspend or cancel a subscription manually from your store’s admin / dashboard, a membership status change will also be triggered. Suspending a subscription pauses a membership, while canceling a subscription will cancel a membership.

When a memberships is tied to a subscription, customers can also make these changes themselves, depending on your Subscriptions settings. If you’d like to give customers the ability to manage their own membership pausing, upgrading, and downgrading, they can do so via Subscriptions. You can also read more about user membership statuses.

Subscriptions with free trials

If a subscription uses a free trial period a “Free Trial” status will be added to the User Membership. This tells the membership to use the “trial” content dripping rules. You cannot assign memberships a free trial status yourself, as this status is only tied into a subscription free trial.

Once the subscription moves out of the trial state, the membership will become active and all rules will be effective, providing access to any content that was excluded from the trial that should now be available.

Suspending subscriptions

Customers can suspend a subscription if you’ve enabled this within your Subscription’s settings. By visiting the “My Account” page, customers can view the subscription with the “View” action, then click the “Suspend” action.

When this action is processed, the subscription status is changed to “on hold” until the subscription is re-activated. Since the subscription is suspended, the membership status will also change to “paused” automatically. Customers cannot access restricted content while a membership is paused.

Members can then re-activate the subscription if desired, which will activate the membership and restore content access wherever the membership left off.

Canceling subscriptions

Customers can cancel a subscription from the “My Account” page by viewing the associated subscription. When a customer clicks the “Cancel” action, the subscription will cancel.

When the subscription is cancelled (and goes into the “pending cancellation” status), its associated membership will also be pending cancellation as a result.

Membership access will continue until the end of the pending cancel period — once the subscription is fully cancelled, the membership will be as well, removing membership access to any restricted content or discounts. Please note that memberships can’t be cancelled directly when tied to a subscription plan.

Upgrading or downgrading memberships

Subscriptions provides the ability to switch subscriptions between variable subscriptions and / or grouped products, and Memberships leverages this capability to perform membership swaps as well.

As an administrator, you have the ability to make changes to a user’s membership. However, the user can only take one action themselves from the “My Account” area: cancellation. If you’d like to grant members the ability to manage their own memberships (i.e., switch or pause them), you should use Memberships with Subscriptions.

Note: if you change a subscription via the admin, you should also change the associated membership. Upgrading or downgrading a subscription as an administrator will not automatically change the membership tied to it as well.

If you have subscription switching enabled via Subscriptions, then members will be able to upgrade or downgrade their memberships by using subscription switching. This allows Subscriptions to handle all billing aspects, such as creating a new subscription for accurate billing and prorating any fees as necessary.

A member can begin the upgrade or downgrade process by clicking “View” for a subscription from the account area, then “Switch Subscription”:

This will take customers through the subscription switching workflow, and will ask them to select a new subscription and complete the checkout process. This cancels the old subscription and creates a new one, following any proration rules you’ve set up.

When the subscription switch is complete, the old subscription is replaced with the new one and remains active. While this process occurs, Memberships will cancel the old membership and create a new one based on the subscription selected.

Switch Complete

You can also use upgrades and downgrades for a “set length” membership by limiting the subscription length / number of billing periods as described under “Statuses”.

Subscriptions + Memberships FAQ

Q: Can I control the membership access length separate from the subscription length?
A: Yes! You’d need to choose any access type but “subscription length”. This gives you a membership that almost acts like a simple product purchase.

The benefit to using a subscription is that Memberships will ensure all payments for the subscription have been completed before it stops listening for subscription status changes.

Q: Can I manually upgrade a member / subscription from the admin?
A: Yes, but please note that you must do this process manually. For example, if you manually change a subscription, you should also manually change the membership. Memberships does not know if you want to just change the subscription, or if it should update the membership as well, so we leave this adjustment to you.

For example, if you want to manually upgrade a member’s subscription to “Gold”, and they should have access to a different membership plan as a result, you should change the user membership’s plan, too. The status of the membership will remain tied to the subscription.

The other option here would be to use the free User Switching plugin to impersonate the customer, then make the change from the frontend.

Q: My Memberships emails aren’t sending. How will my members know when their subscription-tied membership is about to end?

A: When you use Subscriptions and Memberships together in a subscription-tied membership, Memberships emails are disabled for those members.

Overview

The User Switching plugin is a fantastic free plugin that allows you to swap to any user account on your site. When this plugin is active on your site while Memberships is activated, a User Switching integration will let you impersonate members to test out your restriction and discount rules.

How it Works

The Memberships integration with User Switching creates a temporary user account on your site with the appropriate membership access. You’re signed into this account so that you can completely simulate the membership account for testing.

If you log out of this account and log back into your own, the temporary account and membership will still exist. When you click “Switch back” from either the meta widget or the admin bar, the temporary membership and user account are completely destroyed from your site and database so you don’t have to worry about testing accounts lying around on your site or deleting them when you’re finished.

Please note that the admin toolbar (the black bar at the top of the screen) will be forced while impersonating a member so it’s easy for you to switch back. Your members will not see their own toolbar.

Usage

Before using this integration to test a membership plan, we recommend that you add the WordPress “Meta” widget to your sitebar or footer temporarily while testing. This will allow you to easily switch back to your user account from the temporary member testing account.

Meta Widget “Switch back” link

If your site is live, you can also note that the admin toolbar will be forced at the top of the page, which will let you switch back easily as well (only in Memberships version 1.1+).

To start testing a membership, you’ll need to go to WooCommerce > Memberships > Membership Plans. When the User Switching plugin is active, a new action is available while viewing your membership plans — “View site as member”:

Switch to Member

This action will allow you to view the site as a member of the selected plan so you can test your restriction and discount rules. When you opt to view the site as a member, you’ll be directed to the “My Account” page and logged into the testing account:

Test member created

You can now browse your site content as a member. For example, restricted content will now be accessible to you if available, or you may see delayed content messages if you don’t grant access to content immediately:

Member content displayed

You’ll also see member discounts applied on your products, and discount notices disabled (if you have them enabled under WooCommerce > Settings > Memberships > Products):

When you’re done with testing, you can click the “Switch back” link in the meta widget or from the admin toolbar to destroy the test user and log back into your account.

The post WooCommerce Memberships User Switching Integration first appeared on CODIBU.

If you use (or have used) the Groups plugin for WordPress to manage user groups and capabilities, you can import user’s groups as user Memberships.

When groups are imported, you can map the user groups to a membership plan. For example, any member in the “Silver” group can be given access to the “Silver membership” plan. If a user already has access to this membership, the user will be skipped in the import rather than creating another plan for the user.

Note that this will not create a “sync” with Groups, but functions more as a one-time import from Groups to Memberships (though the import can be run as many times as you’d like if you need to import more users into Memberships in the future).

Importing members from Groups

When the Groups plugin is activated while Memberships is active, a new setting is added to start the members import from Groups under WooCommerce > Settings > Memberships > General:

Groups Integration

When this button is clicked, it will begin the import process. For each group, you’ll be asked to either skip adding the users from this group to a membership plan, or determine which plan the users in the group should have access to.

Map groups to memberships

For example, if I have a “Silver” group that has 150 users, and I map this group to the “Silver Membership” plan, each of those 150 users will have a silver membership plan created and activated. If the user already has a silver membership plan, a new one will not be created.

Once you’ve mapped all groups to the appropriate membership plans, you can click “Confirm Import”, which will complete the import and assign memberships to users that have the appropriate groups.

Groups Imported

Important notes

Here are a few behaviors of which you should be aware while using this import wizard.

When users are imported, the membership plan’s settings will be respected in terms of content access and expiration. For example, if a membership is valid for one year, and the member is imported from Groups, then the membership will expire one year after the import date.

If a user is in multiple groups, and each group is mapped to a membership, the user will also have multiple memberships. Example: a user is in the “silver” and “gold” groups, which are mapped to silver and gold memberships respectively. Following import, this user will have both a silver and a gold membership assigned to the user account.

Membership plans will be skipped if the user already has access to a plan. Example: a user is in the “silver” group, and the import maps this to the “silver membership” plan. If the user already has access to a silver membership plan, this user will be skipped and a new silver membership plan will not be created.

Large imports: If your site is importing a large number of members from Groups (i.e., over 2000 users), you may experience a timeout (depending on your hosting environment). This is expected behavior, as the import is not done via ajax. The first couple thousand or so members will be imported, and the import may time out. You can simply re-run the import process to complete the import, as any members that have already been imported will be skipped. This process can be repeated until all members are imported.

It’s highly unlikely that you have enough members to timeout while the plugin checks and skips members (thus preventing a full import), but if you try to repeatedly import members and cannot do so due to timeout issues, please get in touch so we can advise you on next troubleshooting steps.
